SIDAMO

SIDAMO

Sidamo is a region in southern Ethiopia known for its rich highlands the area is 1,550 to 2,200 meters above sea level and has plenty of rainfall, pleasant temperatures, abundant rainfall, an ideal environment, and rich volcanic soil.

Furthermore, because Sidamo coffee is produced at high altitudes, the coffee beans grow more slowly, allowing them to absorb minerals from the soil and create more complex flavors.

Because of the changing and diversified topography, Sidamo coffee is believed to be deeply complex, providing coffee with depth and range of tastes. Greenish-greyish bean of medium size. Sweet Coffee has great nice acidity and a decent body due to its balanced tastes and flavor. Gourmet or specialty coffee is always mixed with it.

What Does Ethiopian Sidamo Coffee Taste Like?

Sidamo coffee has a delightful and complex flavor composition, with delicate berry and cane sugar overtones that linger on the tongue. Sidamo coffee is distinguished by its flowery, lemony scent and medium, smooth body. It has a deeper earthy flavor than other Ethiopian coffees, as well as a sparkling finish and low acidity.

Coffee Processing

Sidamo coffee beans are typically ‘wet-processed,’ which means that harvested coffee beans (called ‘cherries’) are forced through a screen with high-pressure water to remove the skin and some of the pulp. The beans are then dried in the sun. Wet-processed beans might have a more vibrant and fruity flavor than dry-processed beans.
